As soon as you know your holiday dates, it's best to check availability. We only have space for three dogs at any one time, and some of our clients book multiple week long trips, up to a year in advance.
ALL new clients must go through the meet and greet process and new guest dogs must have a trial overnight. There are no exceptions to this. So please factor this in when making your enquiry.
For this reason, we do not take last-minute bookings from new clients.
Little Barks specialise in small dog breeds and toy dog breeds only.
We cannot accept medium or large breed dogs, cross breeds of medium sizes (e.g Cockerpoo) or any dog breeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act, or dogs who are overly boisterous, anti-social, destructive, excessively vocal, aggressive, or not fully house-trained (regardless of size!).
We like to be as flexible as possible and allow drop offs and collections at a previously agreed time. A slot will be allocated for drop off and pick up upon booking.
We accept unspayed bitches providing they are not due in season during their stay. We don't accept unneutered males.
We're looking at how friendly your little dog is, how well they get on with our own dog, to make sure they are house-trained, to make sure they are not aggressive, anti-social, destructive or suffer from separation anxiety. We're also getting to know their preferences for sleeping, playing, eating and going for walks. Every dog is different. Some don't like the rain, others love to play non stop! We're looking for how well your dog will fit into our home.
If we think your little one is not suitable for home boarding with us, please don't be offended as it's important we achieve the right fit on both sides and everyone is happy.
An unsuccessful trial overnight means that we believe a different pet care solution would better suited to your little one. We believe in honesty and transparency with clients. Our no.1 priority is that dogs are happy and settled with us.
This entirely depends on your dog. We usually take them out at least once a day and vary the routes to keep things interesting. Some walks include the woodland that sits at the back of the property, some of the many local country parks, fields and beaches.
We also make sure they get plenty of exercise in the large, secure garden, playing with toys, playing fun games with us and having supervised interaction with the other small dogs.
We send regular updates via WhatsApp, with photos and videos of your little dog having a great time, so that you can feel reassured that they are absolutely fine and settled.
You'll need to bring your dog's bed, blanket, grooming brush, coat, collar or harness, enough food for the duration of the stay and any medication they'll need while they are here.
Having their familiar smell on their bed/blanket is a great source of comfort for your dog and helps to settle them into their second home quicker.
Before your dog stays with us, we'll ask you to fill out a booking and consent form. This is where you can tell us everything you think we need to know about your dog's preferences. There is also a section where you give your permission for us to take your dog to the vet in an emergency.
We ask for proof that your dog is fully up to date with their vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and also require your dogs microchip number and your emergency contact details.
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Full balance payment should be made at least 7 days before the boarding date.
Any bookings that are cancelled between 14 days and 48 hours before the start date of the booking, will require 50% payment for services. All bookings cancelled within 48 hours will be payable in full.
If you wish to collect your dog earlier than the agreed collection date, we cannot offer any refund.
